Middle and Upper School Library & Media Center

The mission of the Saddle River Day School Library/Media Center is to implement, enrich and support the educational programs of the school by providing the resources needed for effective use and production of ideas and information.
Housed in the North Hall, the climate-controlled library has three floors and serves as the learning hub for all Middle and Upper school students and faculty. The main floor contains the circulation desk and print station with color printers.
  • The lower two floors of the library, located in the Minton Wing, contain three new media rooms and additional tables for small group work (renovated Fall 2014). The lower level of the Minton Wing allows students to work quietly on homework and meet in one-on-one or small group settings with faculty for academic review or support.

  • Research Librarian, Cynthia Ridings works in this space and is available for individual assistance with the multiple online databases and print resources.

Lower School Library

The Lower School Library is located in Main Hall only steps away from the PreK - 4 classrooms. The Library is a warm and inviting place with a comfortable reading area, creative teaching space, iPads, periodicals and approximately 4,300 books.

Students come to the Library once a week and begin checking out books in Kindergarten. Students are guided to select books that reflect their own personal interests, books that teach them about the world around them and books for pleasure reading. By instilling good reading habits in younger students the goal is that they will become lifelong readers who think critically about the world around them.
