Parents Guild
Dear Saddle River Day School Families,
On behalf of the Parents Guild, it is our honor and privilege to once again serve as Co-Presidents and welcome you to the 2023-24 school year at Saddle River Day!
As our community continues to evolve, our greatest goal will always be to focus on our advancement by engaging families and welcoming new volunteers in order to support the programs and experiences at SRDS that make our community so special.
As parents and guardians of SRDS students, you are automatically a member of our Parents Guild and we would love your support in any way possible. And while the word “volunteer” may seem overwhelming to some, there are so many ways to get involved.
From attending our meetings and fundraisers, to volunteering your time, to simply providing positive emotional support, any amount of help, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated! Participating in any of these ways provides a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, have fun and strengthen our school as a whole. We are so proud of what the Parents Guild was able to accomplish last year because of YOUR help, and we are hoping to continue that momentum into this year. We’ve already got a fun-filled calendar in the works and we can’t wait to share them with you.
Please join us for our first Parents Guild Meeting, Thursday September 7th at 8:30am in the Alford Hall Performing Arts Center (please feel free to come by right after drop off.) And since this will fall on our first day of school, we’ll have coffee and pastries waiting for you! We hope you can stop by and learn more about volunteer opportunities, school happenings, and special events. A zoom link will be available for those community members who cannot attend in person.
Join the Parents Guild, Head of School Jalaj Desai, the SRDS Board of Trustees, and Administration Team
for welcome receptions for Middle and Upper School parents and guardians on Tuesday, September 12 at 7pm and for Lower School parents and guardians on Thursday, September 21st at 7pm.
Our first school wide kickoff event will be the Homecoming Fall Festival on Saturday, October 14th from 12-4pm. This outdoor celebration is a great way for the entire family to join our community in a social setting.
We are also excited to announce that Ladies’ Night Out is already underway and will be held at The Tides Estate, Wednesday, November 8th at 7pm. The night will be filled with fun basket raffles, shopping, prizes and so much more as we raise money to fund enriching programs for our children and the SRDS community.
On behalf of the SRDS Parents Guild we would once again like to extend a warm welcome and best wishes for a successful school year! Please feel free to contact either of us with any questions or comments. Enjoy the rest of your summer and we’ll see you in September!
Sincerely,
Rosanna Young & Nassdja Anthony
