A Message from Head of School Jalaj Desai

Dear Members of the SRDS Community,

Our country is reeling from the dual shocks of COVID-19 and the racial injustices felt in many communities across this land. As so much uncertainty, hurt and anger pervade our nation, our commitment to provide an environment that is both safe and inclusive for all our students through honest dialogue, compassion and experience is paramount.

At SRDS we value our diversity and embrace all cultures. Our mission statement is clear, “We inspire each child to achieve personal and academic excellence and to become caring and ethical contributors to society.” It is more imperative now than ever that we treat each other with compassion, empathy, understanding, support, and love. SRDS is a diverse and inclusive community and all of us must believe in the fundamental goodness of every person. I truly believe that a close-knit and strong community shines in difficult times and I am proud of the SRDS community for doing exactly the same. We are all in this together and we remain strong and united as one small family. 

Please continue to connect with me and with each other over the summer. We can be a source of strength for each other as we endure the challenges ahead and embrace what makes us all individuals in our SRDS family.
