International Students

International students have two ways they can apply to Saddle River Day School.  1.  Create an account and apply online below via our portal through Finalsite/SchoolAdmin.  All required forms and recommendation/transcript requests are available via the parent portal checklist. 

Apply to SRDS

 International applicants may also apply to Saddle River Day School through the Standard Application Online (SAO) via the SSAT Website.  Letters of recommendation are available via the SAO and can be submitted via SAO or directly to gbowman@saddleriverday.org  

International applicants must complete the following to apply to Saddle River Day School:

• Complete the online application
• Schedule an online Interview via Zoom, skype, or a similar program
• Transcripts from the last two years of school
• School administrator letter of recommendation
• English and Math Teacher letter of recommendation
• One of the following tests:
  • Middle School (Applying to Grades 6-8):  TOEFL Jr 750+
  • Upper School (applying to Grades 9-12):  TOEFL 80+ or SSAT
  • Duolingo English Proficiency Test (new; click below to learn more):  90+

Admissions Timeline

SRDS offers early admissions, regular admissions and rolling admissions.  Applicants applying for Early Admission must complete the application before Dec. 1.  The admissions committee will have a decision to applicants before December 12.  Regular Admission applications are due January 22.  After January 22, we accept students on a rolling admission process until spaces in a grade are filled.  

Saddle River Day School is a welcoming community for international students who are well represented throughout the high school grades.  In recognition of the value added services provided by the school, SRDS charges a $3,000 fee for all newly enrolled international students. I-20 Processing

Saddle River Day School is approved by the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Naturalization Services to issue I-20 forms to students from other countries who wish to attend school in Northern Bergen County, NJ.  Once a student is accepted into the school and has submitted an enrollment contract along with a non-refundable deposit, an I-20 form can then be issued. This I-20 form is required in order to obtain an F-1 Visa. Orientation Days

International Students have an opportunity to meet other students and get to know the SRDS community during the last week of August. Students will take part in various workshops, team building activities, and a field trip.

Coordinator of International Students

Students have access to a dedicated Program Coordinator. The Coordinator develops an ongoing supportive relationship with each student and is available to help students with social and emotional needs as they transition to our school.

Head of Upper School

International Students meet with the Head of Upper School on a regular basis and share their experiences. Different activities will be planned during these sessions.

Field Trips

International Students participate in field and class trips catered specifically to their needs and interests.
