We are pleased to announce the appointment of Athletic Director, Mr. Peter J. Petrow (a.k.a. PJ). PJ comes to us from the Upper Saddle River school district where he has been the Athletic Director and Physical Education/Health teacher at Cavallini Middle School and Bogert Elementary School since 2001. In addition to these responsibilities, PJ has served as a Director for the NJ Crush FC Soccer program since 2012. He also coaches at NJ Crush in addition to his coaching duties to a highly successful women's program at SRDS, where he has served since 2017.
PJ is a highly dedicated and experienced Physical Education Teacher, Athletic Director, and Coach with a passion for promoting health, wellness, and athletic achievement. He possesses a strong background in developing comprehensive physical education programs and leading successful sports programs. He is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student growth, teamwork, and personal development. His main goal is to consistently strive to provide engaging and challenging learning experiences for all students. With exceptional leadership and communication abilities, PJ excels in building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive educational environment. He is also committed to staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in physical education and athletics. His goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of student-athletes while driving the success of the athletic department. We look forward to welcoming PJ in his new role as Athletic Director and part the Saddle River Day family.
Anthony Gallo will serve as the Associate A.D. with continued focus on the Middle School athletics program. In order to support these changes and give Anthony the opportunity to focus on his additional responsibilities, an additional Physical Education teacher has been hired.
