Natalie Janowski, '22 to exhibit art at Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition's National Art Show

Anyone who has been part of the SRDS community for the past two years knows how talented Natalie Janowski is! Now in her third year, Natalie has had a leading role in every theater production since she enrolled at SRDS, where she has showcased her incredible abilities as an actor and vocalist. She has also performed at numerous outside venues including Feinstein's/54 Below in NYC with gifted SRDS Musical Director, arranger and pianist, Tyler Capa. In addition, Natalie is also a natural in the visual arts and has been invited to exhibit her artwork as part of the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition's National Art Show. The exhibit opens on September 21st and runs through October 27th.

Distinguished for having one of the premier programs in the state, the arts at SRDS provide a means to gain personal satisfaction through individual accomplishment in creation and expression.  The program is solidly based on a respect and understanding of where students are creatively, what they require from their work, and the means to move them from one developmental stage to another as they become more expressive, inventive, and perceptive. Through creative experiences, students become familiar with facets of artistic thinking such as the ability to formulate problems and create multiple solutions, the ability to pursue a project over time, the willingness to solve problems inventively, the ability to take risks, and finally to reflect critically on one’s own work.  Students develop a way of thinking that functions beyond the studio into other areas of the curriculum.

We congratulate Natalie on her outstanding accomplishments and look forward to what the future holds for her.
