Application Requirements Grades Pre-K - 12

The Admission Review Committee appreciates the time and energy you devote to the application process and we look forward to reviewing your application. To request further information, please complete an online inquiry form or call the Office of Admissions at 201-327-4050 ext. 1105 to begin the process.

Applicants for Pre-K 4 Program*

The following information is required to be considered for admission:

  • Online application and a nonrefundable $50 fee; all application fees should be submitted directly to the Office of Admissions.

Online Application

  • Complete the Pre-K Experience Form (to be completed by your child's teacher)

Pre-K Experience Form

  • Visitation Day and Screening.  Students are required to visit with the Pre-K teacher.  Please call or email Kris Sweeny in the Office of Admissions to schedule your visit (201-327-4050 ext. 1105 or ksweeny@saddleriverday.org).  

* Pre-K 4 candidates should be age 4 by October 15th of entry. 

Applicants for Grades K-4*

The following information is required to be considered for admission:

  • Online application and a nonrefundable $50 fee; all application fees should be submitted directly to the Office of Admissions.

Online Application

  • Confidential recommendation from current teacher to be submitted after November 15th.

Classroom Teacher Letter of Recommendation

  • Transcript from past two years and all standardized testing.

Student Record Release Form

  • Visitation Day and Assessment.  Students are required to visit twice:  the first is a classroom visit and the second is for an one hour assessment.  Please call or email Kris Sweeny in the Office of Admissions to schedule your visit (201-327-4050 ext. 1105 or ksweeny@saddleriverday.org).  

Application files should be completed by January 15th for submission to the SRDS Admission Review Committee. First round decisions are sent by early February and applications are accepted on a rolling basis thereafter as space permits.

* Kindergarten candidates should be age 5 by October 15th of entry. 

Applicants for Grades 5-12

The following information is required to be considered for admission:

  • Online application and a nonrefundable $50 fee; all application fees should be submitted directly to the Office of Admissions.

Online Application

  • A confidential recommendation from current Principal, Head of School, or Guidance Counselor to be submitted after November 15th.

Administrator Letter of Recommendation

  • TWO confidential recommendation letters from current math and English teachers to be submitted after November 15th.

Classroom Teacher Letter of Recommendation

  • Transcript with grades for the previous two years and all standardized test scores

Student Records Release Form

  • Rebel for a Day - Shadow a current student (if applying while school is in session).  Interviews will also be conducted for students applying for grades 6-12.  Please call or email Kris Sweeny in the Office of Admissions to schedule your visit (201-327-4050 ext. 1105 or ksweeny@saddleriverday.org).  
  • Register for ISEE, SSAT or HSPT if applying for Grades 6-12.  Scores should be sent directly to SRDS.
