| Dear Friends and Families,
Welcome to the newly expanded website for Saddle River Day School. We hope you find it to be truly informative as you explore the many wonderful opportunities available for your children in our school, both in and out of the classroom.
Those of us who labor daily in the educational vineyards think constantly about what sort of world our graduates will enter. As I ponder over issues such as information processing, global awareness, economic viability, sustainability of the planet and its democratic institutions, I wonder how best we can educate our children to not only cope but to be productive and happy world citizens. Interestingly enough, my answers to these questions have remained basically the same over the two and a half decades I have been working with young people.
It is imperative that we as parents and educators give our students a strong value base, an ability to make wise and considered decisions, the information and skills to communicate those decisions, and the understanding and ability to work in a collaborative way with others. For over 50 years, Saddle River Day School has helped young people not only experience a high level of classroom learning, but also to gain perspective from role modeling adults who have their own values sorted out, who can communicate well and who can work with others to a common end. This hallmark feature of an SRDS education has and will continue to stand our graduates in good stead over the years to come.
I’m confident that you’ll learn a great deal about Saddle River Day School from this website, but even more, I would invite you to come visit us on campus. I know you will enjoy meeting our faculty and students and that you will experience first-hand a community where truly, “Everyone Counts."
